Israel is one of the most militarised countries in the world. A state built around military readiness and its history, a near-continuous succession of wars and conflicts.
Polls suggest security is the main concern of more than a-third of the Israeli electorate, and those worries are not just about October 2023.
So how does Israel's security apparatus work? How has it changed? And what might change after these elections?

Israel is "one of the most militarised countries" in the world for a reason. It has been surrounded by hostile, violent and aggressive neighbours for decades. October 7. was, yet again, a terrible example of how difficult it really is to fight against terrorism even for one of the world's most prepared countries to fight against terrorism.

"The Prophet (PBUH) pardoned and educated a Bedouin who unknowingly urinated in the mosque (Sahih al-Bukhari: 219, Sahih Muslim: 285). Yet, intentionally insulting the Prophet (PBUH) is a far more sensitive and severe offense.

Unfortunately, extreme discrimination has been observed in the justice system of the Middle East today. Where two Bangladeshi expatriates were sentenced to death for committing an offense in a mosque, a Sri Lankan expatriate was released despite knowingly disrespecting the Prophet (PBUH). This double standard of the judicial system, operating contrary to the core spirit of Islam, is deeply painful (2026)."

Al Jazeera seems to have a very obvious and biased stance on this conflict. How are you accomplishing your duty to your people by giving them the unadulterated truth?
