6:21 "they can't just double the price" only because the biggest selling models already cost like a car for years.
A brick of plastic. Think about that.

Only western and s.korea phones. I used to use an Iphone and Sam phone. But after I used a Chinese phone, no going back. Faster, more efficient and cheaper.

Yeah well buying new stuff isn't the way to buy. Two years old makes the product much more competitive in pricing

You should take a look at how Gamers Nexus is reporting, he's shown that the memory manufacturers are acting as a cartel. Through long term sales agreements out to 2028 the three big memory manufacturers are actually colluding in constraining supply and just looking at the latest reporting figures posting big increases in profit margins.

We have to keep in mind that many are buying the newest iPhone just to show that they can afford it, so it's a statement.
But I didn't, yet, met the person that can use one at it's full capacity. 😊

"Don't seem to be much better" is an overstatement. Big tech has been ruining every product to squeeze more pennies out of everybody, do more mass tracking. This was way before they started trying to shove AI down our throats.

Phones do not justify the prices being requested. It is unreasonable to pay so much for a device used primarily for calls, brief internet use, and similar tasks. Apologies, iPhone, but my next device will likely be an affordable phone from China.

hardware upgrades moves slower than the cybersecurity. so until the patches stop coming, you are better off just waiting. what's even better is in the EV market. Other than battery, brakes, sensors, and motors, you literally can just keep replacing and keep the car longer than the 5 years. there are no emission and under performance issues to worry about

I bought my phone in October 2020 and still works fine.(Knock on wood!)
I can't imagine buying a new phone every single year or every few months. I get attached to what I buy and keep it safe from damage. Same goes for a PC or any other tech and also clothes. Why people replace their phones every few months with a new ones is a complete mystery to me.

Not really a problem of mine. I've bought many spares of older hardware and now am just waiting for the bubble to pop to do a memory combo gpu upgrade. Reality is, an old 12 core cpu is enough to run any LLM locally... For gaming I prefer the quad core cpu, more raw bus performance... 1 thread for linux, 1 thread for idle background compression, 1 thread for gaming, 1 thread for incoming calls... 🧨

It's Europe and Germany's fault. Germany isn't selling their lasers to China, and the Netherlands aren't selling their ASML machines either which creates a very expensive duopoly between a few US aligned companies.
