Speaking at the Forever Canadian rally in Calgary on Thursday, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called for Canada to become an "energy superpower" and reduce its dependence on the United States. His remarks drew loud cheers from the crowd, prompting him to joke: "Careful, they might think that's election interference,” a reference to US Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra's earlier warnings about possible election interference.
