This interviewer is a partisan hack who needs to do some reading. This is why everyone hates the BBC.

I don’t love the vibe of this guy’s questioning … I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, however, his tact is lacking and Naomi has him in check and I like that. Tad creepy

Isn't it hyperbolic to use terms like "end times" some people really believe that nwo will issue out 666 and buying and trading will become difficult unless you submit during the "end times". This phrasing could easily get co-opted... 😮

I'm sorry, i'm like 14 minutes in and I honestly think the most radical display in this interview is Naomi's extraordinary level of patience as this guy seems like he's desperately trying not to chew his own fingers off to remain wilfully ignorant??

What is going on?? Why have the people who are paying attention and have no real power, gotta go through this constant gauntlet of getting people to understand the word fascism. But the people with all the power to internationally ruin our lives, health, wealth, futures, happiness, security, stability etc, etc, get dismissed as silly little goobers who are just trolling the world cos they're sad and lonely.

When people show you who they are, BELIEVE THEM.

Great guest, however. The "Interviewer vs. Guest" Problem: The interviewer's tendency to crowd the dialogue. Instead of acting as a conduit for the audience to hear the guest, the questioning occasionally shifts toward rhetorical sparring or interrupting lines of thought prematurely.

🤔 Hmmm,Trump kinda like heading towards Totalitarianism while the Democrats kinda like heading towards Fascism. I hope and pray it is not gonna pan out all the way to this both pathetic paths.

Neoliberalism: We have all come to a belief that 'free market' capitalism is interested in freedom and democracy. It is not but only in profits and power. Capitalism, in its current form, establishes a monetary value for everything and has become truly exploitive. That can only go so far until you start sacrificing quality of product or service, sacrificing worker's rights and exploiting the environment. We are witnessing all of that today. Capitalism is transactional at its core. If you want a life saving drug, it is there for you. If you want an efficient gas chamber, there as well. Without regulation and societal oversight it is truly predatory. Carney ( our Canadian PM) understands that. He calls neoliberalism "market fundamentalism" and states " markets don't have values, people do".
. An economic system based upon self interest, hyper individualism and selfishness eventually descends into what we see now. Profits and power only that is completely comfortable with fascism and autocracy.
We have only to look at the Nordic countries to see how they blend socialist policies with a free market. End result...year after year they come up in the top 10 in the World Happiness Index and the World Freedom Index.

As climate denialism persists as a foundational ideology among right-wing conservatives, it is evident that the unfolding crisis is precipitating the initial stages of a significant issue: mass migration from regions rendered uninhabitable. According to serious climate projections, this phenomenon represents merely the beginning. The article highlights this concern, yet another critical factor is at stake: neoliberal capitalism (which brought us trickle down economics). Often, there is a misconception that 'free market' capitalism prioritizes freedom and democracy; however, its primary interests lie in generating profits and exerting influence. This explains the emergence of an oligarchy in the US. The article refers to large asset management firms investing in the very industries that created the problem and are now investing in the 'solution' of repression...hey, it is all about profits.

@48cam19🇨🇦🇺🇦🏳️‍🌈:Cuts are continuing because everyone has bought into, either directly or subliminally, to neoliberal capitalism. This trickle down system gives corps and the rich tax break after tax break and we are left to pick up the pieces. Neoliberal capitalism...watch and act

The beginning of neoliberal capitalism that was embraced by a majority of 'free ' western democracies started in the eighties and was further promoted by Reaganism and Thatcherism is the root cause of the issues you bring up. Trickle down evolved from this. Essentially neoliberalism is that 'the market' establishes the value of everything, literally everything. Human emotions have no value, only things. The human meanings like joy, sadness, love, happiness, cannot be measured because it has no value in 'the market'. We become cogs in an economic machine. The alienation that individuals feel in the world today is because we subconsciously realize how our own personal value means nothing in this neoliberal environment. An economic system based upon self interest, hyper individualism and selfishness eventually descends into what we see now. Profits and power only that is completely comfortable with fascism and autocracy.

This interviewer is a total clown who just doesn't get it & is woefully unprepared for this interview & topic. To suggest Peter Thiel is merely trolling reveals a total ignorance of Thiel's actions: (1) creation of JD Vance as a politician; (2) deep financial support of far right parties/actors/ideology (with his buddy Elon Musk) in US & Europe; (3) creation of the Orwellian surveillance behemoth, Palantir; & (4) venture capital funding of other anti-democratic military (Anduril), intelligence & surveillance companies.

France is right now playing out the authoritarian late stage Neoliberal State. In response to a literal 'ground/ bottom up' resistance started by children. In trickle down macroeconmics they suffer most, get the least of the crumbs. They know, and we should. Private capital needs to be held accountable for 40 years of it's predations on public good, of the neoliberal curating of its deregulated wealth extraction.

Far right techbros vs socialist/comunist academics. And we’re stranded somewhere in the middle thinking what df are they talking about? Greed is not present just in capitalism, learn some f history. The far right only grows when far left people go over the top. Look how we ended up with the orange madness in the USA. People are fed up with ideology. Too many pople went far right or far left.

It's easier to imagine the end of the world than to imagine the end of capitalism precisely because it's so hard to imagine the end of capitalism. Capitalism kills more than communism only by doing nothing. Only charity now can save capitalism from its barbarism and meanness.
