Well Iraq was three different regions under the Ottoman empire. We created an artificial border to control resources and sovereignty. It was never setup to be a sustaining independent country. That was the point behind imperialist partitions of the region.

You mention how US invaded, lied , manipulate with other nations resources , hold their funds , and you mention it multiple times and yet at the end Iran is the bad ones!

Iraqi borders are not designed to make it a sustainable country. I’m surprised that DW talking about differences in Iraqi ethic backgrounds, but not mentioning their water dependency to Iran and Turkey, or the geographical disadvantage of defending the borders of a flat state. Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but I don’t see Iraq, as a colonial invention, ever becoming truly independent.

The US and Iraq agreed in 2024 to end the international coalition’s military mission in Iraq. The withdrawal was phased, with US forces leaving most Iraqi bases in 2025 and the remaining international troops departing in 2026.<br>But the end of the US military mission does not mean the end of the US–Iraq relationship. Washington remain an important diplomatic and security partner, while Iran has developed significant influence through political ties and relationships with powerful armed groups in Iraq.
