General Donahue just made commentary on how easily they could take Kaliningrad. Along with the exercises.....who would've thought Russia needed to state its position 😅😅😅

If the western allies act like russia does, NATO should declare Kaliningrad as temporary Ukrainian territory, as pawn for what the aggressor has occupied since 2014.

so called Kaliningrad was never historically Russian - it was claimed by the Soviets after WW2 and kept by Russia after Cold War, when in fact it should have never held that territory

Hindsight is 20/20 -- Germany, Lithuania and Poland all had a chance to reintegrate Kaliningrad (Königsberg) into their territories back in 1990.all of them didn't want it because "too many Russians", and now the area has become another flash point. The wise man sees the danger well ahead, and takes action to avoid it. This SHOULD have been done over 35 years ago, but here we are ...

if Russia says we shouldn't do something at this point we should do it. they wouldn't make a stink out of it if it wasnt vital to there next move which is clearly attacking europe after all those drone attacks at the Munich airport this is the pretense to invade as well which theyll come up another reason for if we dont anyway so we must strike first fast and hard because thats the only way to deal with bullies punch them in the face before they punch us he wants to break europe and we have to make the first big move to show were serious about threats and lies and will take everything away from them till they learn to respect us like the grounded child putin should be

Let's write a joint EU/NATO letter in response. Putin can recognize the 2013 borders this week and withdraw completely from Urkraine by the end of October. Over the next several months, they can peacefully hand over Kaliningrad to Poland and Lithuania (with income from the ports there to cover rebuilding Ukraine). In exchange, we won't destroy Russia's military and fiossil fuel industry.

All of it could be avoided in 2022 if we provided proper help to Ukraine. Ukraine would liberate all its land and putin would be removed from power. Instead we were constantly stalling Ukraine , we were shivering from fear... Now what? Exactly like it is said - if someone chooses dishonor instead of war, he will get both in the end

In the West, leaders repeat the same mantra like a spell: “Russia will never use nuclear weapons!” But where does this foolish confidence come from? In Russia, its residents are surprised that nuclear weapons haven’t been used yet and are expecting their use — and not just on the territory of the former Ukraine.

Russia says nuclear weapons could be used if NATO tried to isolate Kaliningrad. Putin says a direct attack could put “all types of weapons” on the agenda. If nuclear threats repeatedly make an adversary more cautious, does that make them an effective deterrent, and therefore more likely to be used again? Where should NATO draw the line between avoiding escalation and rewarding nuclear brinkmanship?
