What a coincidence that these types of events occur right now so that they can be blamed on Iran over and over again. And what a coincidence that the rhetoric to demonize Iran more and more as election season goes along. The reputation of Israel is in the trash right now because of their behavior to their neighbors. When something like this occurs, Israel does not get respect because of their actions. Rather, they are the first to be suspect.

A few details of note! The axe is located on the left side of the cockpit behind the Captain (it is held by 2 straps with a protective hood over the blade). If the yoke is moved during auto pilot flight (like if there was some kind of struggle going on) then the auto pilot automatically disengages. If a fight was in progress the Captain's knee might well have pushed the yoke forward pitching the aircraft downwards. The switch to unlock the cockpit door is on the central pedestal between the Captain and the copilot. The first squawk 7700 is a general distress call and would need the captain to type in 7700 into the transponder and activate! The second squawk of 7500 indication a hijacking or flight interference was 7 minutes later by the Captain. There is a lot more to this episode than is being made apparent or possibly a lot less! Just adding as someone mentioned - Israeli law is that no pilot is allowed to fly to Israel from a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv. Oman certainly does not have diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv so what was he even doing on the flight in the first place? And boy did they get lucky having two off duty pilots on board - without expert piloting skills that Max with it's rudder ripped to shreds - was toast!
