Indonesia probes alleged luxury facilities for inmates at West Java prison

A surprise inspection at Cibinong prison in Indonesia on Sep 23 uncovered more than 10 residential units equipped with sofas, air-conditioning, TVs and fridges.

The Indonesian Ombudsman alleged that inmates paid to stay in the special accommodation, which Immigration and Corrections officials said was originally meant to house prison staff.

The buildings were reportedly demolished on Wednesday (Sep 30), after authorities completed their inspection. #indonesia #indonesianews
