I'm Thai but on other region, yeah... it's "as expected" (Bangkok are below sea-level and the wide-preparation still lack behind what's needed), this time too is just another indicator of what we knows are coming next 100y. imo we need huge water displacement capacity like the mega tunnel in Tokyo to really have a change to combat this level of 50y or 100y floods. The best we gonna get now is pushing water out to the sea as fast as possible (pumps, etc.) like always.

Not really true what that one guy says. There were warnings the whole week before it started. It was even close to online hysteria in some corners of social media because people were afraid of a catastrophe scale event. We knew it was coming so no idea what rock he was sleeping under

We are facing it but dont add more wood to the fire. Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday the water will be gone in main areas. Its not about piling food and being paranoid but to try to help someone we can and to have always in mind that this excepcional situation (I lived a similar one,, I guess it was around 2011) and floods in general that happen every year are not only to blame on the weather.. and that is a tragic, annoying truth.

The flooding here is worse than 2011 at least where I live. But in 2011 that flood came from the Chao Phraya River that was swollen from floodwater drainage from northern provinces. This flooding is from almost non-stop rain since Thursday night and Friday morning. Water is knee-deep on the street and people are wading through floodwaters to purchase drinking water and other essentials from local shops. But those shops are running low of provisions and haven’t seen any delivery trucks.
