Regarding the Iranian crisis, it would be greatly appreciated if the Iranian president could reach an agreement with US President Donald Trump. He appears less hokish than the other radical leaders, given his prior positions and assertions to the war in iran and its economic and social implications there.even though he is aware that this will be difficult to achieve in spite of everything.

🇨🇲✅ Cameroon has been politically Stagnant since 2019. On 4 January 2019, President Paul Biya signed a series of decrees reshuffling the government and appointing the current Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute, Since then no change in the government has been made despite Presidential elections and other major political changes in the country .The new government promised after the presidential elections of 2025 has failed to materialize, therefore the government of January 2019 Remains largely unchanged with a number of ministers leaving their posts and other sadly deceased. <br>✅What has changed since 2019? Biya won another seven-year presidential term in October 2025 and was sworn in on 6 November 2025. That makes the current situation somewhat unusual: the same Prime Minister appointed in January 2019 remains in office across two presidential mandates. The current expired government of Cameroon was formed since January 4, 2019 when President Paul Biya won against Maurice Kamto . Since 2020, over 40 members of Cameroon's parliament have passed away while in office, alongside several high-ranking executive and judicial officials. This includes at least 23 members of the National Assembly and 18 senators who died during their respective legislative mandates.✅Cameroon's current National Assembly (elected in January 2020) has had its mandate extended two times consecutively, pushing the expiration date from March 2025 to December 20, 2026, to decongest the crowded electoral calendar.✅First Extension (July 2024): President Paul Biya and the National Assembly prolonged the original March 2025 expiration date by roughly one year to March 30, 2026.✅Second Extension (March 2026): Lawmakers approved a further extension shifting the deadline to December 20, 2026, citing organizational and financial constraints.✅Prior Parliaments: Similar legislative prolongations occurred ahead of the 2020 election cycle (the 2013–2018 legislature was also extended by presidential decree into early 2020) to align balloting or manage regional security crises.✅Legal Limits: Under Cameroon's framework, parliamentary extensions have precedent, though critics and civil society groups frequently challenge repeat postponements as a strain on democratic accountability.✅President Paul Biya has appointed zero new general cabinet ministers since 2020, as he has not conducted a major cabinet reshuffle during this period.Several ministerial and delegate positions left vacant due to the deaths or departures of members have not been permanently replaced. Instead, duties are managed on an interim basis by other officials.Despite public announcements or promises of upcoming government overhauls, no new cabinet appointments have been finalized.✅ President Paul Biya’s prolonged absences are fueling perceptions that the country is running on autopilot. While the government insists the 93-year-old leader continues to manage state affairs through remote decrees, critics and analysts argue his absence creates an institutional vacuum, delays in policy decisions, and deepens political anxiety over succession.✅High-level decision-making are slowing down because absolute power remains heavily concentrated in the absentee presidency, leaving bureaucrats hesitant to act without direct authorization. Even though lawmakers approved the re-introduction of a vice presidency position, the seat remains vacant, intensifying friction over who holds ultimate authority. The failure to name a vice president or reshuffle government formed since 2019 and extended following major electoral cycles leaves ministries stalling on urgent national policies. ✅Opposition parties and lawmakers have openly called on the Constitutional Council to evaluate whether the prolonged absence constitutes a de facto power vacancy.State crackdowns on public discussions regarding the president's health foster widespread rumors, eroding transparency and public confidence in state institutions.Inner-circle elites focus heavily on positioning themselves for the eventual post-Biya transition rather than addressing pressing economic and security issues.
