Polling is underway in the German capital Berlin and the largely rural state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for regional elections. Both elections are seen as a test for Germany's centre-right Chancellor Friedrich Merz. He has already scheduled a crisis meeting and decided to skip this week's UN General Assembly to deal with the potential fallout. Could he be forced to step down based on the election’s results? Details and analysis by Yann Wernert, senior policy fellow at the Jacques Delors Centre in Berlin.

Let DW start giving us objective news instead of encouraging diplomatic resolution to world's problem, from Gaza to Godzilla.

Today the Western Leaders have all gone brain dead, otherwise, who will give cheap energy for costlier one, and support a nation, corrupt from head to feet. And not capable of conducting a democratic election.

Germany will only be okay should it solve its energy problem. Why did Germany allow Ukraine and the US destroy its economy? Today the German economy has lost its competitiveness due to high energy cost and a rising China. It's a shame. You can't say no to cheap reliable energy and then say yes to expensive energy. It's just crazy.
