A unique café in Vienna is bringing pensioners back behind the counter. Could older workers help solve some of Europe’s biggest challenges? #focusoneurope #austria #vienna

This is just a demonstration of failed politics! They tax this lady all her life, used her money, and now retired she can't afford normal living. That's not the problem of old people, but the problem of the state, who failed them!

Is "kummg glei" an Austrian thing, or is it just the restaurant being funny?
@@shirragamedevImported1mo ago
"some people are lonely that's why this is a great idea!" And then you hear from the old person themselves, and it turns out, they can't make ends meet otherwise. Yeah, maybe don't hold this up as a great idea.

Working after retirement should definitely be an option for everyone who wants to.<br>That being said, I really hope this is not “the future of retirement in Europe”….
@@VeritasKeystoneImported1mo ago
Who gets to retire any more in any country?
@@geerliglecluse5297Imported1mo ago
Here in Indonesia where I live (and many other countries in Asia Pacific) people see retirement as UNhealthy and detrimental to mental acuity. Has nothing to do with money, this view is widely shared across social strata.

A shame. If someone wants to work, okay. But as a necessity, terrible.

What a cute story about a state where olds can't afford to retire 😊 And an amazing success for Universal Basic Income + 5hr workday 🤩

Working at 81 is definitively the future of retirement in Europe.

@@akfak8208Imported1mo ago
In some countries, life expectancy reaches up to 84 for men and 89 for women, meaning retirees cost more the longer they live.
@@798gigiImported1mo ago
Are you people nuts? Just because you live isolated and you want to deny decent pensions to people you present it as grandmas baking cookies?

I think this is a good idea. When I am old someday, I wanna stay active too at my pace, as much as I can.
