Criticism over Ad Hoc Committee deadline extension

Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system, is facing criticism for requesting yet another deadline extension from National Assembly Speaker, Thoko Didiza.

Today was the fifth deadline the committee has had, since it was established in July 2025.

The original deadline was the 30th of October, 2025.

For months, the Activists and Citizens Forum has accused the committee of wasting taxpayers' time and money.

Now with the latest, and sixth, extension, the Forum says its concerns and critique of the committee are justified.
