Legendary musician and anti-apartheid activist Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse has warned against turning June 16 into a commercial event or a platform for political rallies. Speaking to SABC News at the Hector Pieterson Museum in Soweto as the country commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Soweto uprising, Mabuse says the day should honour the learners who died fighting for freedom and remind leaders of their responsibility to improve the lives of all South Africans.
