Donald Trump and the Republicans are scrambling to lock up votes ahead of election day. But the Democrats are counting on a wave of public resentment over rising prices to push them over the finish line, giving them the keys to Congress. Some of the contests have turned ugly. In one of the most stunning turns of this election cycle – and in one of the mostly important Senate races – Michigan’s Republican candidate Mike Rogers was endorsed at the 11th hour by Democrat Haley Stevens - in a rebuke to Rogers' Democratic opponent, Abdul El-Sayed.
The last time the Dems had the keys to Congress they didn't get squat done. Now when a unified Congress can overcome Trump's promised vetoes, brutal scapegoating, wars, and vindictive dysregulation; will the corporate Dems co-opt and thwart public progressive sentitments and mandates again? Only social democratic progressive types are ready to hardcheck the uniparty enabled fascist coup. I can only hope the estab Dems represent the public, not their employers. Bunch of spinless semi-loyalist lackies only the progressives can stop.
Haley Stevens's endorsement of Rogers will only help El Sayed. We can be glad she lost in the primary, as she might have been elected and turned out another Fetterman.
