The two guys he skated through were 40 feet behind him in a couple strides and the d man was inside the blue line when he punched through... I dont really think most people understand how absurd it is to do this in the NHL. He made those 3 players look like they play beer league and theyre all unreal players.

The best part of this play is when he instantly recognizes the semi-double-team situation and pushes the puck about 15 feet ahead off the neutral zone boards, between the two defenders, to let himself accelerate without worrying about protecting it.

People wonder why he is the face of the NHL.<br><br>The guy literally goes from 1to 6 in no time. He makes the effort to speed up while the rest of the league just &quot;skates&quot;<br>The only other example of a guy doing this is Lane Hutson.<br><br>When you decide to go at 110% of your already 100% you get these kind of results.<br>If the other players would have that mentality cups would go to different teams each year. But they don&#39;t most player will give the effort that they feel their salary is worth and thats why at face value 90% of the NHL players suck.

every rushing goal this guy scores could be broken down like the scene in 300 where leonaides hits god emperor xerxes in the face with a spear from a football field away... the coverage was doubled, so he sent the pick ahead on the boards to skate through unimpeded... the defender angled off the middle well, so he charged at the middle to push him further in... his deception complete, all that remained was to carve around him like a block of idle wood and cut deep into the enemy crease...
