Looking from the UK these 'Marxist' or 'Socialist' policies are actually little more than mild social democratic policies seen in Europe and Scandinavia. That is Universal Healthcare, help for poorer children like free school meals etc. A market economy with millionaires but with consideration for the less well off so that a bigger percentage get a chance to do well.
