Who paid $1.3 billion in tariffs? You said Audi did, but I don’t believe they ate 100% sithout passing a price increase to the US consumers.

It’s because of the US tariffs, is expensive to build in Germany add the tariffs and boom, you have a very expensive car, Poland economy is growing because German companies are fleeing Germany and going to Poland. A auto worker in my country can do the same job as a German for half the salary and with less demanding unions like ig metal that are waiting to see their version of British leyland.

I know Germans must be upset at this, but if not America, VW Group would have gone to an even cheaper country anyways, especially with all the cost cutting they are doing.

They will be making cattle wagons closer to the cattle that buys them, perhaps Germany can then get back around to building good cars again.

If all industrial production in Germany were stopped, Russian oil and gas would not be needed at all. Isn’t that wonderful? Complete energy independence from Russia!

If they built one in the US, they should be forced to build ten in Europe, and at least two in Germany alone 🇩🇪🇪🇺

Not sure if the appropriate technical term here is corruption or bribery

A US media outlet is reporting that the Trump administration has promised to ease tariffs on automakers that commit more to US manufacturing. This detail was reportedly discussed during talks with Audi on the Georgia facility. <br>The project still needs approval from parent company Volkswagen&#39;s supervisory board, including labor representatives. Construction is expected to start in 2027, with production only expected in the early 2030s.
