Erin Ogunkeye welcomes Lt. General (ret.) Ben Hodges, former commander of US Army Europe and NATO Allied Land Command. The dismissal of senior military officers without public explanation raises fundamental questions about institutional trust and the relationship between civilian authority and military leadership. For General Hodges, the reported firing of Lt. General Brett Sylvia reflects a potentially troubling pattern within the Pentagon under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Equally striking is his criticism of the reluctance of retired senior commanders to speak publicly against policies they consider damaging. Hodges said he was "disappointed and surprised" by the limited public resistance among former four-star generals.

Our country is on fire and we’re worried about someone getting fired in the us?? This isn’t helping the students and the issues we have here in France!
Respect to Ben for speaking out against the abuses of power and mismanagement in the current administration. We look forward to the day hegseth is fired and a competent and respected leader can start picking up the pieces and rebuilding. It must be very disheartening for serving military members at the moment.
This is a narrative again being jabbering jabber gibberish speak... also saw a push from the US called... Six... Seditious. Which have embraced the left extremes.
Regarding the chain of command which Undermines the chain of command. Outrageous rhetoric.
The chain of command is important for the military.
The military in itself has an organizational structure with rules and also fair judiciary.
Is Mr. Hodges OK with Sylvia leaking classified information as he is alleged to have done? Why would Hodges jump to the conclusion that this is really about "getting rid" of someone, when one piece of information we have is that Sylvia failed 3 lie detector tests? That is a very serious allegation. Mr. Hodges also mentions disagreements about force levels in Europe, but isn't it up to America's CIVILIAN leadership to determine the country's strategic interests? This seems like a very political message from Hodges, not based on facts.
