The Democrats lost the last election because they were completely unpalatable to the majority of Americans, if they don’t select candidates who represent the beliefs and values of the majority then no matter how well their going to do in the midterms they’ll lose the Presidential elections to Trump’s successor. Victory for Al Sayed for the rest n to the US Senate will be a double defeat for Haley and those others. The Democrat Party is bigger than any individual. Any individual who is unhappy should leave as the majority is with Al Sayed. The fact that people disagree within a party is what I see as healthy, coz when they agree everything or avoid criticizing their leader, it means it has turned into a cult. But surely there's a difference between respecting the democratic outcome of a primary and being expected to stand behind someone regardless of their subsequent actions or associations? Her decision to withdraw that support suggests she reached a point where party loyalty could no longer outweigh her concerns.<br><br>El-Sayed's association with controversial figures such as Hasan Piker, alongside his insensitive remarks following the attack on a Michigan synagogue, have raised legitimate questions about his judgment. Yes, he condemned the attack and subsequently apologised, and that should be acknowledged. But an apology doesn't mean those concerns are automatically resolved.<br><br>Antisemitism must never be tolerated, regardless of political affiliation. You can condemn the actions of the Israeli government, oppose its policies and passionately defend Palestinian rights without directing hatred towards Jewish people or Israelis simply because of who they are.<br><br>The real test of someone's principles isn't whether they're prepared to condemn prejudice in their political opponents. It's whether they're equally prepared to challenge it among their own allies.<br><br>Party loyalty should never become an excuse for looking the other way. And no political cause, however passionately held, should ever be used to justify hatred or prejudice.<br><br>Criticism of a government is legitimate. Hatred towards an entire people is not. That distinction should never be negotiable.
