Trade union AMCU is questioning what it says is a lack of true economic freedom for workers 14 years after the Marikana massacre.
Thirty-four mineworkers were shot dead at the Lonmin platinum mine in Marikana near Rustenburg in the North West.
The mineworkers had embarked on a wildcat strike to demand a R12 500 monthly salary.
A commemoration will be held this morning.
