A public enquiry will be humiliating for President Cyril Ramaphosa.
This was one of the arguments put forward by the President's legal team in the Western Cape High Court last week.
It heard his urgent application to halt the work of Parliament's Impeachment Committee, pending the review of the Section 89 Independent Panel report.

Which is what the President believes will happen, should the work of the Committee continue.
