A Malawian citizen being repatriated from the Musina Temporary Repatriation Centre in Limpopo says he is leaving out of his own free will.
Thirty two-year-old Moffat Hendrison travelled from Paarl in the Western Cape.
He is one of hundreds of Malawian and Zimbabwean citizens who are being processed at the camp.
Hendrison was working as a bricklayer, and says South Africa offered his only hope for employment, as he has no formal qualifications.
He says he intends to obtain the necessary travel documents in Malawi, and return to South Africa legally.
Rendani Raliphaswa spoke to Hendrison in Musina.
