Suspended Ekurhuleni officials appear in court

Suspended Ekurhuleini Metro Police deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi and Ekurhuleni municipal manager Kagiso Lerutla are due back in the Boksburg Regional court. The pair face charges of fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice. The State allege that Lerutla paid Mkhwanazi 400-thousand rand for an impersonator to appear in court on behalf of Lerutla in 2019, after he was arrested for speeding.
