Crisis Actors for mass casualty drills ..IS NORMAL<br><br>the ENTIRE point is to practice triage. It’s the most important part of the drills. <br><br>I WORKED AT A HOSPITAL<br><br>I’ve done CERT training (Community Emergency Response Training)<br><br>You can’t practice mass triage, without ‘visible injuries’. So you ask the public for volunteers and you do all the make up. Even down to bruising. <br><br>The point is to quick-triage, classify, color-code, and divide groups of people according to universal triage<br><br>Crisis Actors BELONG in things like this. <br><br>It’s when we use crisis actors for REAL EVENTS that it is bizarre and is a huge red flag. <br><br>It would be bizarre NOT to use crisis actors in a drill. Think logically, DO YOUR RESEARCH like you do with everything else. <br><br>Talk to somebody ‘in the know’. Stop relying on us viewers to constantly correct & inform you of the basic thing YOU should be doing enough research to realize. <br><br>You’re better than this.

I have been a part of several hospital emergency preparedness committees and community LEPC throughout my healthcare career. Role playing trauma/ mass casualty events is very common and even required. For example; a critical access hospital is required to have 2 tabletop and one boots on the ground exercise per year. We involve as many agencies as possible. It is designed to find deficiencies in the process, not to teach doctors how to doctor. It is to streamline workflow, and communication so that if or when a horrible event occurs everyone is on the same page. This is not weird at all, and I have personally seen great benefit from these events. Just sayin', but I still like your show.

The mock first responder event is quite normal. Even in our small town in northern B.C. Canada then do yearly events. Fire, police, ambulance, ESS, and hospital is all involved. Even a bit more morbid, kids from the high schools play victims. Full makeup too. They want to simulate the experience as much as possible for practice. Not as odd as you would think 🤷🏻♀️

I trained in make-up artistry in Sydney in the 1980's and even back then make-up artists were brought in to assist with drills like you mentioned. But also note: the movers and shakers of the world have been in training for these scenarios for decades.

33 year firefighter, its very common to have at least one mass casualty interagency training with victims every year. I believe it is a requirement if you are receiving federal funds for a grant etc. this started after 9/11 if I'm not mistaken. Many times these took place at a high school, college class room, football stadium, any place where a large gathering of people would be.

We did a mass casualty drill with theater makeup at the saint george Airport a year or two ago simulating a plane crash. The makeup was for the first responders to decide how to tag us for priority of care.
I’m thinking they will have to manipulate the jury selection in order to get what they want.

I'm a RN and have participated in many drills that include local, county and state partners. They don't always include crisis makeup but they often do. I don't know who told you it never happens, but they are incorrect.

We had a big drill like that in our small county for a active shooter in school. They made it really realistic, I'm a paramedic it's a way for swat and tactical teams to practice.

The past few live shows they have been blacking out the screen when ads are played which is weird and sometimes the screen will stay black after the ad and I can hear Candace speaking. It usually happens when she is sharing footage. I just do what I usually do and rewind after the ad and go back to where It was cut off and blacked out. Just wanted to share in case others are experiencing this.
