The US Supreme Court has struck down President Trump's executive order limiting birthright citizenship.
It reaffirms the long-held principle that nearly all children born on U.S. soil are citizens.
The president has responded by urging Congress to pass legislation to end it.
But that is unlikely since it would require a two thirds super-majority in both houses of Congress and three quarters of U.S. states to pass a constitutional amendment.
