Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia says law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to respond to planned demonstrations linked to the 30 June anti-immigration campaign.
South Africa will deploy more police this week to deter possible violence.
Cachalia called on citizens participating in the planned demonstrations against undocumented foreign nationals to protest peacefully and within the bounds of the law.
Cachalia assured the public that government has taken extensive measures to ensure that the country remains safe and secure.
