Evidence suggests that Colonel Gavin Jacob of the KZN Hawks allegedly intentionally picked an inexperienced cop to join his operation that pounced on the June 2021 drug bust of 541 kg's of cocaine, that would later go missing from an unsecured Port Shepstone storage facility.
This as evidence points to the proposition that the said cop, Lt-Colonel Kwazikwakhe Sibiya would not question the flouting of procedures in the handling of the narcotics.
The Madlanga Commission is trying to get to the bottom of whether the theft of 541 kg's of cocaine worth R200m from the Port Shepstone facility was allegedly "by design".
