The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has criticised the role played by a senior police officer in the handling of a multimillion rand drug bust, questioning both his experience, and his conduct at the crime scene.
Warrant Officer, Marumo Magane, a commander of the Crime Information Management and Analysis Centre at the SAPS Zonkizizwe Police Station has testified.
Magane said that he opened a container carrying 715 kilogrammes of cocaine, worth about 300-million rand.
He failed to secure the crime scene, and took photographs before specialised drug enforcement teams arrived.
To unpack todays testimony we are joined by Dr Mxolisi Mathebula an Independent Security Analyst.
