KZN police vigilant ahead of truck drivers' strike

Acting KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Phumelele Makoba says police remain on high alert ahead of today's planned strike by the All Truck Drivers Forum and Allied South Africa.

It is reported that the forum intends to block major national roads including the N3 and N2 in KZN.

The forum says the shutdown is driven by long-standing grievances over the employment of foreign nationals in the trucking industry, the regulation of the sector and the implementation of the AARTO demerit point system.
