I don’t mind paying hirer rates on my mortgage to fight inflation, I just wish the government would stop taxing me to death so they can give the money to someone else to spend that defeats the purpose of the high rates. Surely someone in government have read a “how to economy “ book???

Sticky inflation is that part of the economy that will not respond to interest rates & that along with higher interest rates makes us all poorer struggling to pay for every day life.

Tax wealth, Tax gas, and then significantly cut spending.
If you want to hit the average aussie with interest rates and inflation and cutting social services, youve gotta make structural changes to share the incredible wealth that is ripped out of this country.

We don't need an expensive treasurer to wreck housing and blame inflation on international forces.

We could get rid of over regulation, red tape and unproductive compliance, which would actually free up the productive capacity of the economy

Why wouldn't we wish for the increase? If we need it, we need it. None wants a root canal, but we have to take the medicine. Bunker down folks.

Albanese & Chalmers are spending way too much, when Dr. Jim “King of Spin” Chalmers says that he is finding savings, it’s NOT NETT SAVINGS, which means government spending continues to rise, fueling higher inflation, higher interest rates, higher taxation, higher unemployment and higher government debt.

You reduce CPI instantly when you reduce fuel excise at least while the oil shortage is going on. They can also no replace the government jobs as the fix term finish and when people retire. AI can do so much typing / admin, there are so many jobs government can cut. Reduce travel allowances for government employees. Reduce travel expenses. $30M+ to throw a party for pacific leaders. We don't need those! Plus cancel all "election promise" like those $6M grants. we don't have money, don't throw parties and give our money overseas, most goes to corrupt "leaders" anyway.

Trump has inflated the entire world. Everybody has lost money because of that a-hole. Can we stop blaming our own govt when they’re fighting trump’s idiocy.

Govt. spending like the pension and jobseeker indexation increase on Sept 20, is the only thing helping me keep up with my rent increases. It's never just one thing. What is never mentioned is revenue not cuts. The LNP have managed to convince peeps that taxes only are cut. For example the approx. $25 billion in revenue foregone from no tax on Super withdrawals over 60, the original design is for a total of 30% on, 15% on the way in and same out. That economic genius Peter Costello changed it in 2007, it's a structural deficit.
