Import taxes on marmalade, gherkins and more than 100 products are being removed ahead of the Budget by UK Chancellor John Healey in a move aimed at giving families "breathing space" with the cost of living.
The government is also bringing in measures to end the so-called cliff-edge for those receiving carer's allowance payments and will also make higher tax-free mileage rates permanent.
The Conservatives said the offer of "cheaper gherkins" was "an insult to families hammered by Labour's tax rises".

This is a sticky situation.
That said, the MSM are probably just picking the most comical items of food, when in reality it'll also be reduction on proper fruit and vegetables.
A freeze on fuel duty is helping no one, we NEED A REDUCTION on fuel taxes at the pump, even if it's for 6 months!

On Marmelade? I was absolutely right not to trust anyone blindly from an early age, to form my own unique opinions about others, and never to let other people’s ideas, the crowd, governments, or anyone else influence who I am or what I think. I’ve been thought independent since the age of five, and I still am today.
