The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has removed its Secretary-General, Sibonelo Nomvalo, from his position less than two weeks before the November 4, Local Government Elections.
In a statement, the party says Nomvalo was relieved of his duties amid concerns over the councillor selection process, delays in the distribution of campaign materials, and the establishment of what it describes as a high-level deployment committee without the knowledge of the party leadership.
Deputy Secretary-General Lindiwe Mtshali has been appointed to act in the position in consultation with National Chairperson Mxolisi Phakathi.
Let's chat to Political Analyst, Khanyi Magubane about the latest developments.
