My mother who had Alzheimer’s was left alone in her room for hours at a time. She deteriorated so badly during lockdown I believe I lost her then. It was unnecessary to keep family away , for fear of giving vulnerable people Covid. The reality was she tested positive twice from contact with staff.

Well I dislike Boris as much as the next bloke, but these were unprecedented times and most governments around the world were caught short and made an awful mess navigating this crisis.

And Jeremy Hunt is on all TV stations desperately trying to claim " it was not me Guv" when it was clearly on his watch that PPE preparedness was ignored and he also failed to give care homes any funding whilst he was Minister of Health.

My grandma withered away, we could only see her through the window. She had dementia and couldn’t talk on the phone. They finally let us in when she was expected to only live a few more days. She bounced back, started talking, eating. They would then only let us talk to her through a glass wall they made outside for several months being able to visit again like normal. She lived a couple of more years, but I swear Covid isolation almost killed her before the dementia did. Unfortunately I wasn’t her POA and wasn’t allowed to bring her to live with us instead. It was such a terrible time.

Why do people dump their loved ones in care homes. Western society needs to stop throwing their loved ones in care homes
