So France and its police have responded with brutality and overwhelming force to quell hundreds of thousands of peaceful protesters, and when that response has further angered protesters, France has imposed even more repression, brutality and force. Sounds like if this happened in Egypt or Iran, Macron 's response is the kind of thing Macron would be condemning.

It appears that the French police do not have adequate intelligence-gathering resources on the ground or in cyberspace to gauge the riot activity, nor the means to deploy officers rapidly enough to deter the looting. Is it time to deploy police drones equipped with less lethal weapons as an intermediate measure to protect people and property?
