Can Ukraine fight without Starlink? And who is behind the restrictions: Elon Musk or Donald Trump? As Washington turns up the pressure on Kyiv, DW’s Misha Komadovsky @komadovsky spoke to a Ukrainian drone producer on whether Starlink can be replaced, and what’s at stake for Ukraine’s battlefield operations.
how come nobody talks about the elephant in the room? No cold war Nato, no threat to Russia, no war. We are puppets, it was obvious that not inviting Russia to join Nato in 2003 and expanding towards Russia, inviting Ukraine… was going to cause a reasonable war. The US would have done that before any expansion close to its borders

Starlink disruptions in Ukraine began overnight on October 13–14. By October 15, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said connectivity for moving Starshield terminals had been restored, though questions remained about the restrictions. A senior Ukrainian official also confirmed to DW that the US had threatened to halt intelligence sharing with Kyiv.
