Well done to the emergency team for calling back to double check and for turning up. It reminds me of when I tried to call the police when I was being badly beaten up by my family, 'at home'. Sadly my family were able to drag me over from the phone and hung up. Nobody turned up... I really thought I was going to get killed, it could possibly have happened (brain trauma). Same thing when I got a severe case of food poisoning. I dialled the emergency number, my mother managed to drag me away from the phone and hung up. If I hadn't run away from my family, I wouldn't have made it past my mid 20s.
I do hope that Christa Pike is going to get a reprieve. This is way too cruel.

Okay, well this proves there was incompetence regarding emergency procedures at the least.

The media has a morbid obsession with this story.

I thought there was a protocol that emergency service follows on the phone asking very specific questions to get the basic information right. Including who is calling. I get it that they might think it’s a prank. But not knowing who was the caller when they called the prison themselves seems a bit of a botched emergency response as well.

Of course it sounds like a prank call. An ambulance needed for someone after their execution.
Now Trump is talking about a putting a firing squad on media. What a messed up judicial system.

The incompetence is unbelievable. First, the execution was botched. Then, someone called Emergency Services and didn't give proper identification or request to speak with supervisory personnel.

Fun Fact about squirrels:

Moving a squirrel or rodent to a new park or forest far away sounds humane, but studies show it results in a 50% to 97% death rate within three months.

Instant Dispatch: Squirrels are remarkably tough for their size. A precise headshot (aiming for the brain) causes immediate loss of consciousness and an instant, humane death.

The Risk of Body Shots: Poorly placed body shots often merely injure the animal. A wounded squirrel will run away, hide in a wall or tree, and suffer a slow, agonizing death from internal bleeding or infection.

I would give her a stay of execution, because they failed to do it twice and there has been too much death in america as it is. She was a dumb little girl who made a terrible mistake. She has paid her due so take her off death row now? Its a shame man
