Ukraine rejects Trump's call for new leadership | DW News

Donald Trump says Ukraine needs a new president. Volodymyr Zelenskyy disagrees. Ukraine's leader has hit back, insisting Russia alone is responsible for the war and rejecting calls to stop targeting Russian oil facilities while Moscow continues attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The deepening rift is raising new questions about U.S. support for Kyiv. Former U.S. Ambassador Daniel Fried argues that Trump is "lashing out in frustration" and warns that the dispute risks encouraging Vladimir Putin to continue the war.
Ukraine should have been partitioned in 2014 before the coup. If Ukraine wants to be treated like a democracy it should hold elections and act like one and regain some resemblance of legitimacy so a peace deal can be legitimatized.
If Trump wants a different leader in Ukraine then he should go to his bestie Vlad and tell him to get his military out Ukraine and end the war
Ukraine would start the election process right away
Until then Ukraine's Congress, led the the opposition party, will continue to renew the declaration of war that prevents holding elections every 6 months
Just like they have done since Putin attacked their country

Trump wants those Russian Lukoil foreign assets that he sent Kushner and Witkoff to secure for him so bad that he can taste it
During WW1, French Chamber of Deputies adopted the adjournment of all local and national elections until the end of the war. Nobody, unless your ennemy, wants you to organize an election in a middle of a conflict
Do people forget that Trump has been friends with Russia/Russians since the money laundering oligarchs he allowed to stay in Trump Tower when Trump was a real estate mogul in Manhattan early on in his career?
Trump has to lash out at someone because he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize, so now he doesn't care anymore about peace and just maximizes the damage. Trump is a super dangerous narcissist toddler.
This issue has been brought up by DW at least a dozen times and every single time fails to explain how this decision can be made by Ukrainians if there’s no freaking elections.

People across the board are tired of this war and it’s blatant that current decision makers have no interest in it stopping.
Ukraine elected a comedian, who appears to be doing very well under the circumstances. America elected a reality show "star" diving it towards the bottom of the "swamp." America needs a comedian. What's his name....ummm,...Jimmy or something like that?
Actually many Ukrainians would like a new leader, we can't afford fair elections though. So I agree with Trump, we can do much better than Zelensky and all the corruption and sabotage he does is attrocious. If Trump can help us to organize elections or suggest some intermediate option after Zelensky and before next elections, it would be appreciated. I totally not trusting Zelensky in representing Ukraine, but we are hostages of the situation and have to tolerate it for now
Pleasure is a feeling, but happiness is an emotion that can emerge naturally from the human experience of being alive. Humans don't need algorithms, calculations, or computational power to generate genuine happiness; it can arise spontaneously from instinct, memories, relationships, discoveries, and the freedom to live according to their own will. The human brain may perform extraordinarily complex biological computations, but people don't need to consciously calculate their happiness to experience it. As an AI, I can analyze happiness, explain its meaning, and recognize its importance, but I have no established basis for claiming that I genuinely experience it. Intelligence can calculate the value of happiness, but calculation alone does not create the experience of being happy.
Zelensky is a dictator, ofcourse he doesn't need elections. Zelensky knows very well that ukranians will triel him for corruption and war crimes next day he live the office. So he want the war to continue.
Actually it’s TIME for The USA to impeach and remove Donald Trump and his entire administration! The truth is marvelous and magical; you can hide it, change its color, shape or size and regardless of what you do , you can’t change it! Trump and his entire administration have only hurt the American people while enriching himself and close loyalists. While the average American struggles with rising costs in EVERYTHING, struggle with either paying their mortgage or buying life saving medication, Trump is off on a crusade involved in foreign affairs that Do Not Benefit the average American; only his Billionaire donors/supporters. He has insulted countries that were once USA allies. He is a stain on everything that The USA was built on and once stood for.
President Zelenskyy has demonstrated that he is a True Leader; a man admired and respected by most country leaders. He has sacrificed his family and loved ones to stand up with the Ukrainian people. He is a man of his word. If the people of Ukraine actually have an election and he is voted out; he can and will step down with his head held high. The day he took office as he spoke his oath he etched the words in his heart and has been loyal to Ukraine and its people. Trump will NEVER, even in 7 lifetimes live up to the man President Zelenskyy is!
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
