At least nineteen people have been arrested following two days of violent anti-immigrant protests in KwaZulu-Natal, which saw shops looted, buildings torched, and residents fleeing their homes.
On Saturday, however, the Durban CBD appeared to be returning to normal. Although tensions remained high, with some foreign-owned shops still closed, law enforcement maintained a strong presence.
SABC News' Nonhlakanipho Magwaza reports that the arrests come as the city prepares to host the MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at Moses Mabhida Stadium later today.
