Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s long march demanding the release of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has entered its fifth day. The march, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, began in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is moving towards Islamabad amid heavy security arrangements and road blockades. Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif government has repeatedly called for talks with PTI, while PTI says it remains ready for meaningful negotiations but wants key issues, including access to Imran Khan, to be addressed. The government has deployed extensive security around Islamabad and blocked major routes with containers to prevent the march from entering the capital. Imran Khan has remained in prison since 2023, while his party and family have raised concerns about his legal cases, access and health — claims disputed by the government. DECODE examines the growing political confrontation between PTI and the Shehbaz Sharif government.
