The West Bank is like a fist into the body of Israel in the map. If Hamas is let off this time, a new incarnation of Hamas with much more lethal weapons will arise in future not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank making the present barbaric & hostage taking attack look a pedestrian affair. Israel may also lose air superiority advantage next time.
The WW2 victor Winston Churchill said: “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival".
It is now a struggle for survival of Israel. It is the anti-Jewish religious indoctrination from infant age onwards that generates crop of Hamas type terrorists. De-radicalization of that ideology requires Israel to have continuous control & supervision of all Palestinian territories for several decades. The stark choice for Israel is now or never. It is now a question of Israel's existence. Hamas barbarism will prove to be the final death knell to independent Palestine state.
