I am so fed up of excuse after excuse as to why the government is allowed to end someone and that sick mother is justified in coming to watch. It's always the same: "think about the victim" , "pike did this and that so we have tortured her", "she suffered for 1 hour 45 mins". Now pike is suffering for several days at the hand of a company called the government. When is enough enough?

Personally i think what is happening to her is brilliant. Suffering a botched execution is like the icing on the cake. Dying quickly would of been too easy. I hope she was in excrutiating pain when they were pumping the second dose into her body. Then she got to feel the pain her victim Colleen suffered.

Retired Nurse Anesthtist here. In OR for 30 years. Number one rule of starting IV never inject medication if you’re not positive IV catheter is in vein. Apparently the people who participated in execution were not medical personnel . If you’re going to kill someone use experienced personnel to carry out the murderer.

I have absolutely no sympathy for that convicted murderer. I hope she’s suffering! Colleen suffered a horror I can imagine, only I lived, Colleen didn’t. My heart is with Colleen Slemmer and her family, especially Colleen’s mother.
This entire situation, from the murder to the failed execution is just horrific for everyone involved.
Why did they wait so long to execute? She sat there in that prison for 30 years. If you’re going to execute somebody, you shouldn’t keep them in prison for 30 years. She should have a timeline that you has to be done in. there’s no doubt that this process needs to be examined and definitely restructured and fixed. There’s no reason to keep somebody in prison for 30 years. If you’re going to just kill them, all three of these people should be facing the death penalty not just her all three of them it’s pretty sad to me that they are not being held accountable in the same degree.

Honestly, they should just do away with the death penalty. I’m not saying some people don’t deserve it, but what does it accomplish? There are no winners in this situation. And I still have no idea why her job corps friend didn't tell Colleen what was going to happen because she was on dateline or one of those programs telling people that she knew the day before they were going to take Colleen out and kill her. And no one warned her. Absolutely disgusting.

If death is the worst - suffering an injury she will now have to live with is WORSE. <br>And, In my opinion there should be a cocktail of medications used, not just one barbiturate which is extremely hard to OD from. <br>She/her family have an excellent case for a lawsuit.

It was the federal job corps program and had no affiliation with UT. The federal job corps program is no longer in Knoxville. Historically it brought a lot of crime to the area and was finally closed in the city. The murder did happen on UT’s Agricultural campus, but that is the only association with UT in this case. Christa planned the attack in a remote area and chose behind the steam plant to be away from people. She lured Colleen there.
I don't understand why they took her to the hospital "for life saving measures". Leave her on that table & leave her alone. She would eventually die. She was not supposed to be saved. Execution hanging: the rope was too long when the trap opened the rope didn't snap. The execution did not snap his neck. He swung back & forth like a pendulum for 15 minutes before he died. They didn't disrupt the process & give him life saving treatment. They let his die. Execution firing squad: they missed the center of the heart; he didn't die immediately. He bled out. It took a while, but they didn't give him life saving treatment. They let him bleed out & die. Why was Pike given life saving treatment!?!
She tried to kill another inmate while in prison on death row. She was isolated from other inmates to protect the others, not to punish her. She also told another student she used that piece of Colleen’s skull to scoop some food up (who knows if she did or not). <br>I’ve no tears for Pike. I have some Colleen and her mom.

I was actually locked up with Krista in the Knox co jail. She had already been in prison at this point and had to come here for a court date. She was in the cell above me avd the inmates treated her like a freaking CELEBRITY! it’s was so sick
