I think that had it not been for Israelis—people accustomed to such situations and constantly forced to fight for their survival—the perpetrator would have succeeded. The fact that two pilots happened to be on board could be called an act of God. When I watched the video and saw a flight attendant—a huge, burly guy—apparently hiding behind a curtain out of fear, I felt that the civic courage shown by the other passengers deserved recognition; they are heroes, as are the two pilots who happened to be on board.
