After at least 13 reported cases of violence against women in September left Delhi shaken, women took to the streets to protest and demand safer public spaces.
We joined a solidarity walk organised by Women Walk at Midnight, an organisation that has been organising group night walks exclusively for women since 2016.
More than 50 women joined us as we walked from Kalkaji Metro Station to Moolchand. It was raining, the traffic was heavy, but the women kept walking-talking, laughing and simply experiencing the freedom of being out on the streets at night.
Because at the end of it all, “it was just a walk.”
