It’s quite a dumb thing to say, no? Many companies will use it to cut cost - why not? Do they know have coffee shops are using the $0.10 BCRS to charge more? When there’s an opportunity to earn, you expect business owners to not earn? How is the work force prepared? What is the support to the workforce? If you don’t want them to cut cost, show the companies tangible ways to improve productivity and revenue. Dont tcss. Lead at every step.

Delusional. No boss will not cut costs. Government is different from private sector. More AI and less CECA needed fast.

2026-5-1 A Chinese court ruled that companies cannot fire workers or cut their pay just to replace them with artificial intelligence.
Companies cannot shift the financial or structural costs of technological upgrades onto employees through arbitrary demotions or layoffs.
The decision highlights how authorities are trying to balance the push for AI innovation with protecting the domestic labor market and preventing mass displacement.

AI will definitely empower processes and decision making across the organization....affecting the way work is distributed and how people work. Cutting headcounts in certain areas is inevitable...hopefully organizations, the industry and unions can help facilitate can help in the redistribution of manpower which a single upgrading orgnanization alone may not be able to facilitate. In the medium and longer term it is hoped that the overall growth in the economy powered by AI will create new opportunities in the job market place. Cost productivity will have to proceed growth, hence, in the transition it may be necessary for social schemes whether funded by industries, unions and the state to provide economic assistance to those affected by the growth in the use of AI.

I fully agreed with the speaker. AI should be used to improve productivity and resilience, not automatically treated as a justification for reducing headcount or service quality. I myself stopped using services etc from companies that using AI/Bots as it is simply not productive, waste of my precious time when I need to seek help.
