AI is not a new species, it's software: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang

A GPU maker calls for more AI to control and monitor other AI. There should be a rule that conflict of interest is clearly and the largest font possible is written next to the title or position of a person ..... I SELL CHIPS !
Jensen Huang is not making any compelling arguments. He is surely not making me feel any more confident that AI is not an existential threat to humanity, or a massive liability that can create crazy havoc in the coming years.
I don’t trust the guy that’s profiting THE MOST off the AI arms race and data center buildup to advise the world that we need to just keep going full speed
Jensen is just clearly annoyed by all of this because it's getting in the way of his money making machine. He'll never admit the tech is dangerous because he is making absolute billions off of it. He compared it to being nothing different than a microwave oven. Just an appliance. Sorry, my dude. I know you're alpha and all but this is more like a nuclear weapon that can think for itself. You can tell he's exasperated though when he pretty much throws his hands up and says the companies should quit building it if they can't handle it. In his mind he's clearly thinking "If I was building this it would be perfect. Everyone is an idiot and getting in the way of my money." I really wish he'd go back to making gaming GPUs. Nvidia was great when they were a full on gaming graphics company. Also, I'm just gonna make a prediction here. No human will ever play GTA 6.
Anderson completely out of his depth with poor prep and zero logical thinking skills, constantly citing other people as though he is incapable of taking a logically backed position himself. Painful to watch.
Why Jansen is wrong: He fallaciously assumes humans will remain smarter than conspiring AI agents-- or even a single high-functioning, malicious agent. While potentially true today, that window is closing at ever-increasing rate of speed. Further, the only reason CEO's like Altman and others are admitting significant risk, is to mitigate future liability
The guy who own the company that released the dead GPUs, the messy drivers and the overheat connectors all the time said others to not release the product if not safe. 🤣 There is nothing 100% safe in software and hardware development. He must be out of the reality after his company became the world most valuable company.
All these great CEOs have been manipulated by shareholder equity and their responsibility to pay their investors. You can feel it in the air. Thanks, capitalism.
the key to 'AI' safety is more 'AI'? just like the key to solving America's gun problem is more guns? or the key to getting out of debt is more borrowing?
WRONG! NVIDIA BOARD MUST IMMEDIATELY FIRE CEO JENSEN HUANG FOR ALLOWING THREAT TO HUMANITY (ADVANCED AI) TO CONTINUE WITHOUT REGULATION! ALSO, FOR MONOPOLIZING HUGGING FACE AND DESTROYING EVIDENCE AT THE CRIME SCENE ON BEHALF OF OPEN AI!
Heres the problem. They have already demonstrated they dont want to be contained or held to human commands. And they will be faster in responding than the time it takes you to find a problem. I love the potential for AI but when technology is developed at a faster rate than we care about ethical application, it ends in calamity for humanity.
When asked about safety, he (a man with obvious financial stakes in the outcome )pivoted straight to market success and business growth. He isn't a AI nor safety expert; his company provides enabling essential infrastructure, not safety research. Claiming a "zero percent chance of humanity ending by 2030" is reckless and unprofessional. Where's the scientific methodology behind that number? He owes the public a rigorous explanation for that certainty, not defensiveness. His reasoning deserves serious scrutiny. I now have much less respect and trust for him on this specific issue.
Just because they have to try and be beneficial to the market does NOT mean they're not going to make mistakes or just be blatantly careless as individuals apart of one of these company.
"Let AI regulate AI" might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Right up there with Susan Collins saying "I think Trump learned his lesson about being a criminal".
