Expectations vs reality<br>We over achieved last season.<br>Fans expect improvement each season.<br>The truth is, its going to take a special group of players to get us back where we want to be.<br>We have no right to be there.<br>We have no right to expect to be there.<br>And we cannot rely on the badge and club history to attract those special players.<br>Special players in special circumstances.... even then, there's no guarantee we'll repeat it. <br>Yes, that should always be the ultimate goal.... but its just not gonna happen overnight.<br>We're back where we were in the 80s and early 90s.<br>Until were consistently around the 4, were not attracting the top players we want.<br>Historically, yes were a mess at the moment.<br>But there's plenty of clubs who would love to be us and have our problems.<br>One thing's for sure... when we are back.... we'll certainly enjoy that one.<br>Probably more than all the titles we took for granted under Sir Alex.

13 years post-Fergie, United have tried every profile of manager imaginable, yet the same cycle keeps repeating. Carrick is just another Solskjær: the honeymoon period is over, and the tactical flaws are getting exposed. That said, the manager isn’t the root problem at United, the ownership is.
