Village votes to leave UK over asylum housing plan. #Piddington #Referendum #BBCNews
I'd rather the migrants waiting to be processed were out on the county, rather than in the city centres. Makes sense.
I bet Piddlington is your usual nimby town that kept the UK back since Thatcher.
What good do they think they can achieve. Talk about cutting your nose if to spit your face! Grow up and learn to accept people instead of isolating yourselves . Who decided this would be a great idea!!!
Over 20 years ago all the MPs were told to stop the immigration....now we have auditors showing how bad the UK has gotten, you MPs and those before you - you sold us out
Wayyy too many people blaming these people, the residents of piddington held this symbolic referendum as a form of protest, they are not seriously trying to leave they just don't want illegal immigrants near them, if you genuinely believe that illegal immigrants don't do more harm than regular people then you are delusioned, sure its not all of them but its far more than everyone else. Piddington has rights too.
Passport To Piddington. Someone should tell them that Ealing comedies aren't real. The Government should tell them "Fine. Set up your own police force, fire service, hospitals and ambulances. Your own organisations to maintain the roads, hospitals, social care etc.
These hypocrites voted for mass migration when they voted for the Lib Dem’s but they wanted you to take them in your area and put your family at risk. Now it’s happening in their town they’re all like oh no we don’t want that at all 🙄
The new Republic of Piddington. Good luck. You have your own army, NHS, pensions, hospitals, schools. Of course you will not join the UN or Europe. You don't go on holidays to other countries for holiday, you have no foreign takeaways, you eat pure English food.

You all done DNA tests are pure ENGLISH, no foreign blood e.g. German, French, Spanish, Irish, Scottish etc.....
You all are more English than the royal family who have German ancestry!
Village that roars... Pft, more like a quiet meow. These are the kinda people that were probably all for open borders until it looked like it was going to impact them. No NHS no Ambulance service and no police service for them then, and let's not forget all the other services like electric and water and sewage.
The idea is… that village of 300 people voted they don’t wanna be a part of this social experiment the government has allotted to them, this is what we are willing to do.
Bye then. Wait til the border goes up around you and you need your own passport to leave your village. In addition, you'd better hope your negotiation skills will secure a good trade deal with England.
Oh dear. Better hope you don't need the Fire Brigade, Police, or an ambulance, the NHS, water, electricity etc.
On the other hand I hope our politicians realise they don't have the confidence of the people any more - if they ever did.
So, are they're renouncing their citizenships? Because it sounds like they're renouncing their citizenships.

When their pensions, winter fuel payments, and healthcare stops, they may want to claim asylum in the UK. Luckily, we have a system for that, and we're just opening a place where they can stay nearby while they're being processed.
In a result which produced a 92% turnout, roughly 93% of the voters said leave. But the BBC still managed to find one resident who spoke unchallenged for 3 minutes on the dangers of the 'far right', Daniel Thommo and of the 'wrong sort of people' being in Piddington. You couldn't make it up - but the BBC will always find a way to make it up.
the smugness as they announce “of the 312 votes counted…” this village could have saved some money and got on the news by buying everyone in town a pie for the hell of it.
I wish I had the free time to hold a make-believe vote where the results are clearly so meaningless that everyone can vote for whatever they want knowing it'll never actually happen.
I mean, if we held a referendum to replace the Union Jack with a picture of Mr Bean on all our flags, I'd vote for it since I knew it wasn't really going to be done even if it won
