Reaction to Mikel Arteta’s comments on Max Dowman’s red card + Preview vs. Liverpool | ESPN FC

This ESPN guys can’t be this stupid! Arteta just explained that he had this talk on this game with Dowman prior to red card moreso given a similar incident when he played for England; in that moment he had every right to give that reaction! It does not preclude the fact that it was a malicious tackle. Men, these guys are full of 💩

Arteta got this one wrong in my mind. He didn&#39;t lash out, he was removing his foot in a pissed off manner due to the extremely firm challenge that just missed him. He&#39;s a very young man, he needed an arm around him.<br><br>Did Dowman give the ref an unnecessary decision to make? Yes.<br><br>He needs to keep his head. But hanging him out to dry publicly is not the way to do it in my eyes.

Liverpool at home against Arsenal and based on recent form Liverpool are favourites. Arsenal are crafty at getting win, very well organised to the point of being robotic but not one of the best football sides inl the PL you&#39;d put Man city, Brighton and Liverpool above them on that

I&#39;m not the biggest fan of Arteta, but in this he is right. Nothing wrong with a sharp word in the player&#39;s s ear after repeated behaviour. As for the appeal, Arsenal were just trying to mitigate the damage, not that confusing. One is public facing response, the second is internal to the player.
