The US Senate has voted overwhelmingly to extend the African Growth and Opportunity Act — or AGOA — keeping preferential access to the American market for eligible African exporters through the end of 2028.
The Senate voted 90 to 6 on August 8th, providing a potentially significant boost to African businesses that have faced months of uncertainty over the future of the programme.
